Here at The Bauble Market, we enjoy coming up with custom pieces such as this keyhole necklace. If you have a special piece in mind or want us to “tweak” one of our existing designs, just let us know … we love working with our customers to create something unique.

This is a specially commissioned necklace and earrings set. I had this posted in gold, but I was able to make it in sterling silver and to a specified length. It is made using vintage beads.

The dangle is made using a vintage keyhole for a dresser … pretty cool, huh?

Here is the happy recipient of her Christmas gift … it looks great on her!!
She wrote a sweet note, which said … “I got my necklace…I must say it is even prettier in person. I love it…now I just have to wait until Christmas to “open” it and be able to wear it. Keep up the great work…I may just have to come back for another piece. (I’ve already got my eye on another one.)”

In early December, I participated in a Holiday Stop & Shop that benefitted the Family Alliance here in Central Virginia. It was a fun day of meeting new customers and networking with other vendors while supporting a great cause! Here is their website for more information … www.familyalliance1.org, and enjoy some of the photos from the event.

My daughter helped me with the event, and she took this photo for me.

Here are some of the pieces I had for sale including lots of earrings. All of the pieces I had on display were made with vintage beads and are one of a kind.
Necklaces and bracelets are always good choices for gifts, and I enjoy providing a variety of colors and styles for customers to choose from.

I had given away a $50 gift certificate in Stone Blue Productions 12 Days of Christmas contest (www.stoneblueproductions.com), and the winner (sweet Lindsay Marie) came and used her gift certificate. She was looking for something red for a Christmas party, and she wore her set that evening. It was fun to meet her at the event.
We here at The Bauble Market wish you a very Merry Christmas, and we hope that you enjoy spending time with friends and family as you celebrate Christ’s birth.

We are SO excited to have our new gift certificates in hand. I designed them myself (my first attempt at anything in illustrator), so I am pretty pleased with them. Gift certificates are available in any amount, OR you can give a gift certificate for a certain item (such as a necklace and earrings set … I will let the giver know the total amount once the piece has been selected … this is a GREAT way to do a custom order). Contact us at info@baublemarket.com or (434)851-2224 if you would like a gift certificate. We can send them to the giver or the recipient. The front and the back of the certificate are shown below.

A history of The Bauble Market is included on the back of the gift certificate so that your recipient will know a little more about what we are all about.
Again, just contact us for a gift certificate … perfect for Christmas, birthdays, a bride (imagine giving her the ability to have a custom piece for her wedding!), you can give one just because.

I have always wanted to set up on the market in downtown Roanoke, VA, and their Dickens of a Christmas celebration was the perfect time. They had food, family fun, a parade, vendors and more … it was so much fun (although we FROZE outside for 6 hours … meeting the people on the market made it all worthwhile, though). Here are some photos from this fun event that took place on Friday, December 11 from 6pm-10pm.
Here I am all set up outside at the Historic Downtown Market in Roanoke, VA. It was SO cold!!

Real men aren’t afraid to be out in the cold helping their wives sell jewelry (and allowing her to take potty breaks and fetching things like hot chocolate and yummy spinach, tomato and blue cheese pizza from her favorite bakery … thank you sweetie!!).

Here I am donning 5 layers of clothes, but I was happy … it was a fun night!

I just HAD to share this sweet note that was written to me. If you check out our “restored pieces” section on our blog, you will see a strand of pearls that we reworked. I was presented with a broken strand that had about 10″ worth of pearls to work with, and I mixed the pearls with sterling silver and Swarovski crystals to ensure that there was enough to make both a necklace and a pair of earrings. I knew that the woman’s mother had passed away, and that she wanted to wear her mother’s pearls. That is all I knew, but when I received the following note, it truly brought tears to my eyes!! It was a privilege and joy to be a part of the process of bringing beauty back.

Mother’s bracelets can be a fun way to celebrate your family, and it is a way to carry them around with you daily. These two mother’s bracelets were commissioned by a mother who was giving a bracelet to each of “Will”s grandmothers. We used vintage beads and sterling silver to complete these keepsakes.
Each grandmother received a special keepsake bracelet with her grandson’s name on it.
One of the grandmothers enjoys yellow, so we designed a bracelet with bright lemons and subtle yellows so that she could enjoy the piece with many of her outfits.
The other grandmother loves purple hues, so this bracelet had a variety of vintage beads in purple coupled with sterling silver.
Here at The Bauble Market we enjoy talking with our clients to grasp their ideas and bring them to fruition! If you have a special idea or design in mind, we would love to help you bring those concepts to life. Contact us today at (434)851-2224 or info@baublemarket.com.

Again, one of our favorite things to do here at The Bauble Market is to work with our clients to bring their ideas to life through jewelry. Recently a bride had twelve (yes, 12 … they were absolutely gorgeous as was the bride!) bridesmaids in her wedding, and she contacted us to create a special keepsake for each of them. We had the privilege of coming up with 12 original bracelet with matching earring designs that reflected the uniqueness of each of the girls in the bridal party. The bride was married in the fall, so we decided to add a small leaf charm to each of the bracelets so that the girls could remember the special day.

Here is an example of just one of the sets in pink and green (our favorite color combination here at The Bauble Market!!), but the sets were literally a rainbow of colors. All of the sets were made with vintage beads and sterling silver.
If you have the need for any special gifts, please feel free to contact us so that we can come up with something unique for you! Also, note that the earrings are clips … any of our earrings can be converted to clip earrings, just ask! Thank you again for stopping by The Bauble Market.

Recently we had the privilege of reworking a necklace that was more than sentimental to a special friend of ours. The necklace was broken, yet it had belonged to her mother. There was only about 10″ worth of pearls left, so we added strategically placed Swarovski crystals and sterling silver beads to make a necklace that was long enough to showcase the family pearls along with an adorable matching pair of earrings.

The restoration and restringing of pieces varies in price at The Bauble Market, yet it is very economical since we are working with beads that are provided by the customer. It is such a joy to us to be able to take a meaningful yet unusable piece of jewelry and reconstruct it into an heirloom that will be enjoyed for years and years.

The pearl beads were provided by our customer, and we added the sterling silver beads and Swarovski crystals to lengthen the necklace and ensure there were enough beads for earrings.
If you have some pieces that are relegated to your jewelry box because they are unusable and/or broken, just call (434-851-2224) or email (info@baublemarket) us. We would love to give your pieces a new lease on life!

I am busy uploading things to etsy (www.etsy.com/shop/baublemarket) and stocking the galleries for Black Friday, so I was able to sneak in the time to make a couple of new pieces.
The photo does not do this piece justice, but it is made using light blue vintage crystal. I was fortunate enough to find several antique necklaces in the same hue so that I could make a graduated necklace interspersed with sterling silver and also matching earrings.
The deep red of these crystal beads will be perfect for the holidays. I had exactly enough beads to make the two stranded necklace with a matching pair of earrings … I only had one bead left to spare, but I love the results of this design.

Recently I had the privilege of working with a bride, Rachael, who chose The Bauble Market for her bridal jewelry and the jewelry for her bridesmaids. It was such an honor for me to make the jewelry because Rachael was a very special bride … she has babysat for our family for several years, and our children LOVE her. Enjoy these photos from her wedding, and thank you to Michael Lupino Photography in Virginia Beach for these images.

Rachael made a beautiful bride, and I was thrilled to make a jewelry set for her special day. Her three strand necklace and earrings were made with Swarovski pearls, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver.

Rachael is VERY special to our family. She has babysat for us for years, and I had the privilege of making jewelry for her and her bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid received earrings and a matching necklace. The necklaces had 3 strands, which included Swarovski pearls, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver. They all looked beautiful!!

My girls were the train bearer and flower girl, so of course I had to specially design some jewelry for them, too. I also made their headbands (hey, it is amazing what you can do with a glue gun … for the headbands, NOT the jewelry
).
We wish Rachael and Christian a great start to their marriage and many blessings for years to come. Thank you for letting us share in your special day in so many different ways!
